New Jersey’s regulated gaming market posted one of its biggest months yet in July 2026, with casinos, racetracks, and their partners generating $678.1 million in total gaming revenue. That was an 11.9% increase from $606.2 million in July 2025.

The headline number is impressive, but the story underneath it is even more important for Atlantic City. This was not a month where one part of the market carried everything else. In-person casino win increased, online gaming set another record, and sports wagering revenue rebounded sharply.

That combination follows the pattern NJ Gaming Report tracked in our June 2026 New Jersey gaming revenue update, when digital gaming was already supplying much of the market’s momentum. July added a much stronger Atlantic City casino month and a favorable turn for sportsbooks.

Key Takeaways

  • Total New Jersey gaming revenue reached $678.1 million in July, up 11.9% from July 2025.
  • Atlantic City casino win reached $304.2 million, up 7.1% year over year.
  • Internet gaming win reached a record $276.9 million, up 12.0%.
  • Sports wagering gross revenue climbed to $97.0 million, up 29.7% from July 2025.
  • Year-to-date total gaming revenue reached $4.20 billion through July, up 6.9%.
  • The July surge coincided with peak summer traffic, the FIFA World Cup in New Jersey, and continued resort investment in Atlantic City.

July Gaming Revenue Reaches $678.1 Million

July produced growth across all three major revenue categories. The nine Atlantic City casinos generated $304.2 million on their physical casino floors, internet gaming produced $276.9 million, and sports wagering added $97.0 million.

Total Gaming Revenue $678.1M Up 11.9%
Atlantic City Casino Win $304.2M Up 7.1%
Internet Gaming Win $276.9M Up 12.0%

The result pushed year-to-date total gaming revenue to $4.20 billion through July, 6.9% ahead of the same period in 2025. July gross revenue taxes totaled $92.2 million, while year-to-date gross revenue taxes reached $592.7 million.

Sports Wagering Revenue $97.0 million $74.8 million Up 29.7% $609.9 million Down 2.7%

Atlantic City Casino Win Jumps to $304.2 Million

The most encouraging part of July may be what happened inside the physical casinos. New Jersey’s nine Atlantic City Casinos combined for $304.2 million in casino win, up 7.1% from $284.1 million one year earlier.

Borgata led the market with $81.6 million in July casino win. Hard Rock followed at $57.3 million, and Ocean Casino Resort generated $52.2 million despite a fire and flood that forced a one-day closure late in the month.

Ocean posted one of the strongest year-over-year gains among the nine properties, rising about 21.0%. Caesars Atlantic City increased about 34.6% to $25.3 million. Eight of the nine casinos finished July above their July 2025 casino-win totals.

Atlantic City Casino July 2026 Casino Win July 2025 Casino Win YoY Change
Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa $81.6 million $79.9 million Up 2.1%
Hard Rock Atlantic City $57.3 million $55.1 million Up 4.0%
Ocean Casino Resort $52.2 million $43.1 million Up 21.0%
Caesars Atlantic City $25.3 million $18.8 million Up 34.6%
Tropicana Casino & Resort $23.3 million $22.9 million Up 1.8%
Harrah’s Atlantic City $22.0 million $20.4 million Up 7.8%
Resorts Casino Hotel $16.9 million $16.8 million Up 0.6%
Golden Nugget $13.4 million $12.9 million Up 3.7%
Bally’s Atlantic City $12.2 million $14.1 million Down 13.7%

Year-to-date casino win reached approximately $1.72 billion through July, up 3.1%. That growth rate is smaller than online gaming’s, but July shows that the digital boom is not automatically coming at the expense of Atlantic City’s physical casino floors.

Online Casino Revenue Sets Another New Jersey Record

Internet gaming remains the most consistent growth engine in the state. New Jersey’s casinos and their online partners generated $276.9 million in internet gaming win during July, a new monthly record and a 12.0% increase from July 2025.

Year-to-date internet gaming win reached $1.87 billion through July, up 14.5%. That continued expansion has made NJ online casinos a central part of New Jersey’s gaming economy rather than a secondary revenue stream tied to the Atlantic City properties.

FanDuel Casino led the July online market with $61.7 million in internet gaming win. DraftKings generated $48.1 million, BetMGM recorded $34.6 million, Borgata produced $22.6 million, Caesars Palace reached $18.6 million, and Hard Rock Bet generated $18.2 million.

Online Casino Brand July 2026 Internet Gaming Win
FanDuel Casino $61.7 million
DraftKings Casino $48.1 million
BetMGM $34.6 million
Borgata $22.6 million
Caesars Palace $18.6 million
Hard Rock Bet $18.2 million

What Is Driving the Record?

July’s result is broader than a single hot streak. Online casino revenue is still expanding at a double-digit rate, physical Atlantic City casino win accelerated during peak summer, and sports wagering swung sharply back in favor of operators. The three major segments rose together in the same month.

World Cup Activity Adds to New Jersey’s July Surge

The FIFA World Cup was one of the biggest outside events affecting New Jersey during June and July. New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford hosted eight matches, including the July 19 final, and more than 645,000 fans attended games at the venue.

Tourism Economics estimated that the five group-stage matches alone generated $1.2 billion in direct visitor spending and $2.1 billion in total economic impact in New Jersey. Those estimates did not yet include the knockout rounds, the final, or additional operational spending.

The tournament also mattered for NJ Sportsbooks. Sports wagering gross revenue reached $97.0 million in July, up 29.7% from $74.8 million in July 2025. Stockton University gaming expert Brian Tyrrell said July’s World Cup outcomes may have favored sportsbooks after June produced a much better month for bettors.

Sports wagering is still the one major segment running behind last year on a year-to-date basis. Revenue totaled $609.9 million through July, down 2.7%. That makes the July jump important, but it also shows that sports betting is not the main reason New Jersey gaming revenue has reached record territory in 2026.

Atlantic City’s Mini Boom Is Showing Up in New Investment

There is a wider story developing beyond the monthly revenue release. Atlantic City is in the middle of a period where stronger summer traffic, expanding online revenue, major events, and new resort investment are all happening at the same time.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City is one of the clearest examples. The resort invested $50 million in 2026 improvements, including renovations to more than 700 guest rooms, more than 60 suites, and eight penthouses in the North Tower. New dining additions also opened as part of the investment program.

That level of spending matters because operators do not commit tens of millions of dollars to rooms, restaurants, and public areas without expecting Atlantic City to remain competitive for visitors. July’s $304.2 million in physical casino win gives the industry another reason to keep upgrading the resort experience.

The result has the feel of a genuine mini boom. Online gaming is generating record revenue, physical casino floors are rising during the summer, large events are sending visitors into New Jersey, and casino operators are investing in the properties that serve those visitors.

New Jersey Is Also Collecting Record Gaming Taxes

The revenue boom is also showing up in state tax collections. New Jersey collected a record $925.7 million in gaming taxes during fiscal year 2026, up 42.3% from the prior year.

Part of that increase comes from continued online casino growth, and part comes from the higher tax rates that took effect July 1, 2025. Online casino and online sports wagering revenue are now taxed at 19.75%, compared with the previous rates of 15% for internet gaming and 13% for online sports wagering.

The distinction is important. Higher tax rates help explain why tax collections are rising much faster than gaming revenue itself, but they do not explain the underlying growth in July gaming activity. The $678.1 million July revenue total reflects actual growth across the regulated gaming market.

What July’s Record Says About New Jersey Gaming in 2026

July is the clearest sign yet that New Jersey’s current gaming growth is becoming broad-based. Internet gaming remains the main long-term growth engine, but Atlantic City’s physical casinos produced one of their best summer results in years at the same time.

The World Cup added an unusual burst of visitors, media attention, and wagering activity, while Atlantic City entered its busiest season with operators continuing to spend on rooms, dining, entertainment, and guest amenities.

That does not mean every month will repeat July. Sports wagering revenue can move sharply depending on game outcomes, and summer is traditionally Atlantic City’s strongest period. Still, the year-to-date numbers show that the market entered the second half of 2026 with more than a one-month spike behind it.

NJ Gaming Report’s Take

Atlantic City has earned some optimism. July combined a record online casino month with a 7.1% increase on the physical casino floors and a major sportsbook rebound. Add the World Cup’s economic activity and visible resort reinvestment, and New Jersey gaming is entering the back half of 2026 with real momentum across more than one part of the market.
